The Eye Bank encourages recipients to write an anonymous letter of thanks to the donor family. This is then passed on to the donor family by the Eye Bank.  Great care is taken to ensure the confidentiality of both donor and recipient.

Example of a letter received from a grateful recipient:

   "Dear donor family,

   This is the most gratifying letter I've ever had to write
   Words cannot express the value of such a precious gift I've received from your beloved, but
   the  pure joy of regaining my vision will be a constant reminder of your sacrifice and of my
   undying gratitude to you all."

   Signed:  " Forever grateful"
